About the event
Social Anxiety Disorder is one of the most common and impairing mental health conditions, yet many individuals do not achieve sufficient benefit from existing treatments. Recent clinical trials suggest that MDMA-assisted therapy may offer a promising new approach.
In this webinar, Jason Luoma, PhD—lead investigator of the first U.S. trial of MDMA-assisted therapy for social anxiety—will share results from this groundbreaking Phase 2 study conducted at the Portland Institue of Psychedelic Science. Dr. Luoma will discuss:
The rationale for using MDMA to target social fears and self-criticism
Study design and therapeutic approach, including the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and modern exposure-based principles.
Preliminary findings on outcomes, safety, and participant experiences
Implications for clinical practice and future research in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy
